Master - the decision to let tomkins is strange? I think you're bring far too polite mate.

That sums up the management of the club imo. Cash is king, penny wise pound stupid. We have a weaker squad this season not a stronger one. They knew full well about the injury to cresswell and they went for a cheap replacement on the left and then decided Antonio could fill in at right back. Further unproven premiership shit has been added and the star signings that were promised were just fairy tales.

Last season was so good that proven premiership players like song and moses ended up on the bench. Perhaps because they were in the squad in the first place that moral & competition was so high. I'm sure the team must have benefitted from knowing a player like song was on the bench even if his form dipped.

Now, you look at the squad and it looks like a bottom half of table scrap.

Relying on the yids to lose to take the edge of a shit weekend.

Trying to get my head round what can only be described as Masuaku's meltdown.

Could it be he's had "don't let the ball bounce in the area" drilled into him and it's sent him over the edge?

Can't use the stewarding, police, standing as an excuse to take attention away from another awful defensive display.

When was the last time wba scored 4? Yes that's how shit we are defensively this season. Soton is must win if we have any ambition to make anything of this season, because if we lose again we are in a rut and that will be hard to get out of. When things go well they go well, but when they don't it's a test of character and so far I'm not seeing the reaction expected of a team "expected" to finish top half.

Saza genuinely looks worse than Carlton Cole, which is not even remotely funny, the fella seemingly isn't incapable of doing anything, he doesn't even resemble a footballer, certainly not a top flight one anyway. I reckon this fraud has one chance left and then he's gone. He's also managed to make Carroll look like Van Basten in his abscence.

Just watched MOTD again and feel even more demoralised now. We're a laughing stock Bilic.
Time to man up & totally review our game plan this season. Concentrate on defending & let the attacking sort itself out rather than the gun ho attacking we thought would get us into the CL last season. That's over.
Arthur's performance today is just stunningly awful. Cresswell did this last year vs Bournemouth & had to suck that one up all season, so hopeful that it's the last of these duff defensive shows this year.
I'd seriously drop Collins too, has looked like a headless chicken all season.
I get the feeling we as a team are underestimating supposedly poorer opposition. I have no other answer for what is going on... Bilic has to f***** take charge of this situation now.
And dump Dicks while we're at it, he just looks totally clueless. What does he do at training !???!

I liked the fact that even at 4.0 Payet and Lanzini wanted the ball and we're trying to make things happen right to the end.

If Collins scuffs that near post effort would have been a fab last 5 min.

The games we lost last year were normally due to starting slow, again that was evident today. Barring last week, we normally improve in most games 2nd half.

Those short corners really piss me off!

I mean, what is the fucking point of playing it short to someone who then attempts to cross, when the corner taker is a perfectly capable crosser of the ball?

The only time you should play it short is when you can catch the defence napping. That clearly wasn't going to occur in that instance.

Well the only positive of watching that on Sky match choice is that Sky seemed to have slashed the timescale for highlights this season so I only had to sit through 20 minutes rather than 45!!

Their fourth was an absolute disgrace.

I can't imagine being part of a team that puts ten of their players in the last third of the pitch for a corner, leaving a opposition player a free run into our half.

Unless we were 10-0 up and feeling sorry for the opposition...

Yes exactly but when we lost the ball the only player I saw busting shut to get back Antonio. Think some of the others have to realise they can't do that at this level . Second half look better.

I just wanted to point out the grabbing and shirt pulling that James Collins does at every corner. If we hadnt conceded the third goal from thier corner today, I wouldn't have been shocked to see the ref blow. He should know better and is not quick enough with any kind of movement in front of him. Decision to sell Tomkins is looking strange.

Re: ⚽ WBA v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 4-2
Jasnik,

It's no good being decent going forward when you are 4-0 down. When you play a team like WBA (and Pulis), the last thing you do is give away a cheap goal. We paid the price for that dickhead giving away that penalty for no reason. As soon as that happened they had all their men behind the ball and picked us off. Yes we got 2 back but it was too late by then.

We hated the defensive Sam teams this is the other side of the coin.

We are great going forward but ferk we have to learn to defend again as a team.

Thought second half we started to put out foot in a bit more and got results.

Love the flare players but they have to realise this is the premier and you have to give 100 percent both ways .
